As a very strong Apple advocate, I find this to be a pretty amazing move for Apple. They are looking to expand their companies operation to keep them in one location that is very eco-friendly. The real hilarity comes in when the city counsel begins to ask “What does the people of Cupertino benefit from this move?”.
There is a lady on the city counsel that seems very greedy by asking if they city will get free wifi out of Apple for something like this. I love Steve Jobs response when he says, “I tend to be a simpleton and i believe that as we pay taxes, that is something that the city should provide. Now, if we can stop paying taxes, then we’d be glad to provide free wifi”. It is amazing the arrogance of the board to ask for more, but Jobs described it very well that they would have to leave if they can’t expand in this city.
I know I am a simpleton too, but if the largest tax payer wants to increase the quality of life for their employees and make something greater for the city, then I’d think that you want to keep them around!
Great moves by Apple!
